Recently, there has been a well organized, well funded push for what is likely to be an irresponsible path for the LPEA Board of Directors. Whenever you see the San Juan Citizen’s Alliance, Conservation Colorado, and other “non-profits” sponsoring and supporting various candidates, ask yourself a few simple questions…
- Where is the actual proof of all their claims?
- If renewables are so cheap, why are they subsidized?
- Why have these candidates chosen to be subordinates of the SJCA?
- Are these the words of the candidates, or the words of their masters?
- The SJCA is funding them, but who funds the SJCA?
LPEA needs responsible and independent stewards of our cooperative, who will keep the members first- not zealots who receive their marching orders from outside interests. With our board now in the hands of outside interests, the LPEA is in serious jeopardy of being forced down a path of higher rates and unreliable power…
Look in the near future for a push to break the long-term contract with Tri-State, more subsidies for “green projects” and more kick-backs to those who financially support the SJCA- all at the cost of the members…
